Kent State University Launches SMASHUP, AllofE's Sixth

KENT, Ohio -- Kent State University announced the official launch of its university social media mashup, which is AllofE's sixth SMASHUP project. With more than 100 social media accounts, from YouTube to Facebook to Twitter, and the like, Kent State is a school fully immersed in the social media landscape. The new social media mashup website can be reached at

Kent State wanted a way to effectively display all of its social media accounts in an interactive way, including a monthly featured social media account. This month, the KSU SMASHUP is featuring The Kent State University Fashion School Facebook page. The Fashion School is one of the top fashion schools in the U.S.

Katie Brosious, AllofE's SMASHUP project manager, said that the Kent State implementation shows a level of interactivity that not every school has the ability to provide. "Kent State wants its featured accounts to represent events happening at the school. The have multiple social media accounts commemorating the May 4, 1970 tragedy. How many schools actually have dedicated accounts to memorialize things like that? They take social media to a whole new level."

AllofE has previously worked with Youngstown State University, DePaul University, Northern Illinois University, the University of New Haven and Our Lady of the Lake University to implement university-wide SMASHUPs.
